Where can I buy shipping containers in China?

On the xChange trading marketplace, sellers list containers at depots across China, most often in Shanghai, Qingdao, Tianjin, Ningbo and Shenzhen. Each offer shows the container type, condition, pick-up location and price, and you deal with the seller directly.

Can I buy brand-new containers in China?

Yes. New ("one-trip") containers make up a large share of the offers in China, alongside cargo-worthy and IICL used units. The most common types are 20ft dry and 40ft high cube containers; side-door and other special types are listed too.

How does payment work?

You pay xChange, acting as the seller’s payment agent, before the containers are picked up - not the seller directly. xChange pays the seller 7 days after the release document is provided on the platform. The trading payment handling terms have the details.
